Michael Steele MA, MT-BC, LCPC
I am a licensed psychotherapist in the state of Montana, and a Board-Certified Music Therapist.
I received my masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Music Therapy from Lesley University in 2017.
I have seven years of clinical experience including four years in higher levels of care at the Eating Disorder Center of Montana, where I offered both group music therapy sessions and one-on-one psychodynamic psychotherapy as a part of a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to healing.
My approach in psychotherapy is informed by many different models but most rooted in the training I received over the course of three years in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). ISTDP is an emotion focused, experiential, attachment based therapy that is evidence-based, and focused on providing rapid and lasting relief from symptoms.
I hold a certification in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and offer this experience as an adjunct to treatment in qualifying cases.

Healing Through Collaboration
Whatever obstacles you’re encountering, you don’t have to face them alone.
I offer a space where you can pause, reflect, and begin to make sense of what’s happening in your life. We’ll explore the patterns, emotions, and stories that shape your experiences, working to uncover new paths toward healing and growth. My goal is to meet you where you are and provide the support, tools, and insights you need to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
For those seeking accelerated relief and deeper transformation, I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). This innovative approach allows us to tap into your inner resources in new and profound ways, creating opportunities for rapid progress and lasting change.

Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy is a deep and exploratory approach to understanding the root causes of emotional and relational challenges. It focuses on uncovering unconscious patterns, emotions, and experiences that influence your thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. By bringing these underlying dynamics into awareness, psychodynamic therapy aims to help people develop greater self-understanding, break free from repetitive cycles, and create lasting change. This process fosters emotional growth, resilience, and a deeper connection to yourself and others.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy combines the therapeutic benefits of ketamine, a safe and FDA-approved medication, with the supportive environment of psychotherapy. Used for qualified individuals, KAP helps alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma by fostering a state of openness and introspection during medicine sessions and by promoting neuroplasticity in the following days and weeks. Ketamine can facilitate breakthroughs by quieting negative thought patterns and enhancing emotional processing. The integration of these insights in therapy supports lasting transformation and helps you move toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.
